ILS is a continuous level measurement system designed for reliable measurement of powdery and granular bulk materials stored in silos and containers.
The system measures the actual level of material inside the silo by means of a sensor weight connected to a measuring rope. The sensor weight descends into the silo until it reaches the surface of the stored material. The system then determines the material level by measuring the distance travelled by the sensor weight.
The ILS measurement principle is suitable for a wide range of bulk solids and is largely insensitive to dust inside the silo and variations in material humidity. This makes it particularly suitable for demanding applications involving cement, powders, minerals and other dry bulk materials.
The system is installed on the roof of the silo and is designed for straightforward integration into industrial storage and material-management systems. Microprocessor-controlled measurement provides accurate and easy-to-understand level information.
ILS can provide different output signals, including 0/4–20 mA, MODBUS, relay pulses and opto pulses, allowing the system to be integrated into plant control and automation systems.
Different sensor weights are available according to the application, while optional configurations include a belt cleaning device for particularly difficult materials, extended temperature ranges, ATEX and FM certification.
ILS is suitable for concrete batching plants, cement plants, drymix and mortar plants, mineral processing, building-material production and other industrial facilities requiring continuous monitoring of material level in silos and containers.
